UPDATE: Smith Plantation Cancels Friday's Egg Hunt

Inclement weather was given as the reason for the cancellation. Saturday's Sweet Apple egg hunt to go on as planned.

The Smith Plantation's annual Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for Friday, March 22, has been canceled; but the city egg hunt at Sweet Apple Elementary on Saturday, March 23, is scheduled to go on as planned, according to the .

In a press release Thursday, the city noted possible freezing temperatures and rain as the cause for cancelling the Smith Plantation hunt. Eggs will be donated to a local charity to be given to underprivileged children, according to the release.
