2014 Touch A Truck Family Festival to Benefit Heart Health

GAH is excited to announce our first ever Touch A Truck Family Festival to Benefit Heart Health to be held at Centennial High School (9310 Scott Road, Roswell, GA 30076) on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 5 p.m. (Severe Weather Date of Sunday, September 14, 2014).

WHAT IS IT? Touch A Truck is an educational hands-on family event for kids of all ages. Name a child who wouldn’t love to climb aboard a fire truck, police car, big rig or bulldozer! Touch A Truck provides a unique opportunity for children to explore and interact with vehicles of all types – public service, crime fighting, emergency, utility, construction, landscaping, transportation, delivery and just plain cool – all in one place! Children will be allowed to touch, climb on and ask questions about their favorite trucks in a safe, supervised environment. Children will meet the people who build, protect and serve the metro Atlanta community. Accompanying personnel will teach the children about the equipment displayed and how these machines help us and our community.  Enjoy family friendly entertainment including crafts, activities, appearances by local mascots, kid-friendly food venders, and more to make this a perfectly entertaining day for the entire family! Health and public safety information round out the fun.
WHO WILL ATTEND? While young children ages 2-10 are especially thrilled by this event, the entire family will enjoy the day. September 7 is National Grandparents Day in the United States. This Touch A Truck Family Festival will be a fun venue for grandparents and grandkids to honor the day. The event is expected to draw over 3,000 individuals and families from throughout metro Atlanta.

WHEN IS IT? Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 5 p.m. (Severe Weather Date: Sunday, September 14, 2014.) Gates will open at 11:00 a.m. for children with special needs and sensitive ears for a one-hour Siren-Free Zone (no horns, sirens, or lights) with general admission following from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. All vehicles must be delivered by 10:00 am.  HOW MUCH IS ADMISSION? $5 per person, with a maximum of $15 per family for tickets purchased in advance (www.hadassah.org/touchatruck ) and $20 at the event.
