Apple Harvest Moon - 2 Day

It’s harvest time! Join us for the first Homestead Atlanta overnight at beautiful Sun Dog Farm in Blairsville, GA. Darby and Elliot’s farm is home to a number of trees laden with all kinds of heirloom apple varieties, and we’re going to help give them the homesteader treatment and discover all kinds of things you can do with apples along the way: we’ll pulp and press them for cider, preserve them as apple butter, create an apple tart for dessert and maybe even try our hand at creating an old-fashioned syrup called boiled cider, as found in the Slow Food Ark of Taste.

Sun Dog Farm also offers nearby retreat accommodation with a number of shared bedrooms and even outdoor swinging beds for the adventurous. We’ll also be sharing a hearty farm dinner together and enjoying an evening in the mountains complete with firepit and revelry. Coffee and snacks will get you started in the morning as we pick up where we left off in our apple creations the evening before, and we’ll break up the morning with brunch. It’s sure to be a wonderful time you won’t soon forget, and just in case you do – you’ll have the flavor of it preserved to enjoy throughout the winter and spring!

*Please let us know if you have specific dietary restrictions; vegetarian options will be provided.
