Butterfly Garden Planting at Roswell North Elementary

Roswell, GA (9/19) – On Saturday Sept. 28, parents and students of Roswell North Elementary will be making their school a more environmentally-friendly place by participating in The Green Apple Day of Service.  An initiative from the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), this annual one-day event brings together advocates from around the world and encourages them to take action in their communities through service projects at local schools. The “Going Green at RNE” committee is excited to participate for the first time, and have chosen a school butterfly garden as their project.  Butterfly gardens offer much-needed food and habitat for pollinators, and provide a wonderful hands-on learning environment for the children.  Groundbreaking begins at 9am, and any and all volunteers (children and grownups alike!) are welcome.
