Local students to compete in a canned food building competition at North Point Mall

Nine local area high schools
will compete at North Point Mall on Nov. 9 for the chance to win $2,500 for
their school by designing and building a structure made from canned
goods.

Students from Alpharetta High School, Centennial High School, Chrysalis Experiential Academy, Independence High School, Johns Creek High School, King’s Ridge Christian School, Northview High School, Riverwood Intl Charter School and Roswell High School held canned food drives and will build, on-site, an original structure using the canned items.  All canned food used during the competition will be donated to North Fulton Community Charities.

The Can Do Good Social Design
Build Competition, sponsored by Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, is open to high
school students in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee and each
registered school will submit a photo of their original canned good structure
for a chance to win the title of Best Can Do Good Structure and $2,500
for their school.  Online voting through https://www.facebook.com/CanDoGood
beginning Dec. 12, 2013 and ending Jan. 16, 2014 will determine the winner from each state. The winning school from each state will enter into the final round
of judging and the overall winner will be announced on Jan. 23, 2014.

North Point Mall event partners include Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, North Fulton Community Charities and Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, Inc.
