Act Together Ministries is a children’s charity in Alpharetta. Act Together serves children in distress, specifically foster children, children from low-income families and children in single parent homes. Programs and services are open to families throughout the north metro Atlanta area.

The Lawrence Awards began many years ago with a local Atlanta-area pianist, Larry Williams, who had a large following of singers who performed with him at local piano bars.  He wanted a way to help his singers out and also provide a better Christmas for local underprivileged children. He organized a show with his signers to benefit 15 children from the Salvation Army.  With the money raised, the group went shopping for the children, then had a big party wrapping the presents and singing carols. Larry has passed away, but his legacy is kept alive through The Lawrence Awards that benefit similar charities.
