Centennial, Johns Creek, Northview Students Chosen For Leadership Initiative

The students were chosen to participate in the EarthCare: The Leadership Challenge for the 21st Century program.

Lauren Williams of Centennial High School, Evan Barnard of Johns Creek High School and Rishab Rao and Kelly Zou of Northview High School were all selected to participate in the EarthCare: The Leadership Challenge for the 21st Century program based on demonstrated leadership initiatives and scholastic skills.  

Sponsored by Georgia Power and supported by community and business leaders in the Rome area, this program helps participants develop insight on their generation’s role and responsibility in sustaining our environment. Now in its seventh year, EarthCare focuses on developing students’ leadership skills while expanding their understanding of current environmental issues.

More than 90 students from across Georgia attended interactive workshops focused on such topics as renewable energy, sustainability and clean air. Students participated in an energy audit, visited two electric generating plants using different technologies and worked on sustainable energy projects while honing their social and leadership skills.
