“We nominated Alex for Emerging Leaders because he has always been so civic minded," said Principal Laura Finnell. "Not only that, he also very dedicated to giving back and does an excellent job managing school work and being a part of the community."

Along with completing the program, Alex also is a member of The Cottage School's cross country and track teams, runs the concessions stand during basketball season and volunteers at the STAR House after-school program in Roswell.

This summer, Alex plans to patrol the grounds at Roswell’s Sprayground, keeping children safe and making sure everyone enjoys summer.

“Alex's recent completion of the Emerging Leader Program and hiring as a spray ground attendant are two great examples of how he demonstrates hard work, an active interest in his community, and his desire to promote positive change," said Lynn Haas, career counselor at The Cottage School.
