Wrap Up in Style This Season

There is no better way to make a fashion statement than your choice in outerwear this season. It’s the wrapping paper for the perfect package – just like the woman you are…

In Atlanta, we get only a few months of cold weather so take this opportunity to look your best this during these chillier months. This is the time of year to be bold with your clothes and gloat your coat!  For the 2013 cold season the coat styles and looks are all about one thing: no rules!  For those free-spirited junkies – this is your time to shine!  From fur to leather, from bright reds to darks or neutrals, from simple to eccentric, from oversized to slim cut, long to short, clean or patterned – the coat styles are wild and free in 2013 winter.

A big thing this cold season is the oversized coat, with large shoulders and one button, right above the knee length, usually in neutrals – yes, somewhat of the former 80’s look. This somewhat of a masculine look is making quite the statement this year.  To soften the look, try pairing it with an elegant chic blouse and a cool statement necklace to balance the androgynous look and feel.

This season fur coats (faux or real) and leopard prints continue to make their stylish waves in this season’s fashion.  They can make any look and outfit look chic &sophisticated, rich and glam while being urban and unpretentious. Try wearing an all black outfit, lots or jewelry/accessories and a fur or leopard printed coat over.  It’s edgy and modern yet quite retro & classic, however nothing beats classic and timeless.  A coat style that has always been around is the classic knee-length, belted, brown coat - it was a huge hit back in the ’70′s. This look exudes a retro modern vibe to your wardrobe and looks stunning with heeled pumps or court shoes and trousers.

Another huge hit for this season is the black military coat and seems to have a long fashion shelve life.  This coat can be styled to look rock glam/punk with studded boots and jeans or super glamorous with heels, trousers and silky tops or dresses.

Want to rock these looks… Try pairing any of these coat styles with a perfect pair of boots and a cool bag.  And while you are at it, throw in a thick wool scarf, gloves and maybe a hat or beanie and you are the picture perfect of winter style.

Remember, this year’s look is limitless and the funkier they look the better they will fit you this season. Be bold, try a new look and remember…no rules this season.
