Obituary: Charles C. Webb, 89

Webb served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and later retired from Lockheed.

Charles C. Webb, 89, Alto, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Mr. Webb was born in Greenville, North Carolina on January 3, 1924, to the late Glenn Curtis and Oretha Nesbit Webb. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Diane Webb and a brother, Clarence N. Webb. Mr. Webb was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia, and a member of Joy Sunday School class.

He was a United States, Air Force Veteran, having served during World War II. Mr. Webb was a member of the Alpharetta American Legion Post #201, for a number of years. He was a former member Alpharetta Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Mason and a past Shriner. He retired as a production supervisor with Lockheed Air Craft Corporation with 30 years of service. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years Elise Bagwell Webb of Alto, daughter and son-in-law Wanda Lynn and Gerald Watkins of Cornelia, one grandson Ethan Lane Watkins, sister-in-law, Edith Cathcart of St. Augustine, Fla., and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, Aug.16 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Dr. Eric Spivey and Rev. Brian James officiating.

Mr. Webb will lie-in-state from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16 at the Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and crematory, 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075. Interment will follow in the Alpharetta City Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

The family received friends on Thursday Aug. 15 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin, Georgia.
