Obituary: David R. Maxwell, 58

Maxwell was strong in his Christian faith and loved blues, jazz, country, rock and gospel music.

David R. Maxwell, 58, native Atlantan, passed into the next life on Saturday, August 10th, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore A. Maxwell and mother, Shella B. Maxwell.

He is survived by his wife Janice of 32 years and his two sons, T. Brett LaFoy and Lance E. Maxwell and two dear grandsons, Roman and Athen LaFoy. He is also survived by his brothers, Dwain Maxwell, Theodore (Buck) Maxwell, and Robert (Bob) White and sisters, Harriet Smith and Barbara Scragg and mom Sybil White along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

David was active in the Saint Bernard Club both on the local and national levels. He was strong in his Christian faith and had an ongoing ministry of helping others. David was an avid reader, his favorite author was James A. Michener and he loved all music including rhythm and blues, jazz, rock, country and gospel.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 17th at 1 pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Rd., in Roswell. His service will be officiated by his brother, Dwain Maxwell.
