Lois M. Burge, 76, passed away on November 29, 2103, surrounded by her husband of 56 years, Richard (Dick) Burge and family. She had lived in Roswell since 1983.
She was born Lois Marie Rabensteine in Indianapolis, IN and moved with her parents, 3 brothers and a sister to Lafayette, IN where she met Dick. She married in 1957 and moved to Columbus, OH. There she began raising her 8 children, 2 girls and 6 boys.
She moved with her family to Roswell, GA in 1983. It was a difficult decision to leave Ohio as she was leaving a house that she and Dick had built, a church and school that they had been a part of for 20 years and of course their many friends. But as was Lois's style she dug in to make the new house their new home. She worked tirelessly to make her house the center of family events and she always succeeded.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 5 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with burial at Green Lawn Cemetery. The Burge family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
