Obituary: Mack 'M. C.' Cook

Cook will be buried at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell

Mack “M. C.” Cook, 89, of Johns Creek, passed away May 29, 2013.

M.C. was born and raised in Alpharetta, as one of 15 children. He was retired from the city of Atlanta and he enjoyed gardening, church and his work. M.C. was also a master of the barbeque grill, specializing in ribs.

He is preceded in death by his wife of over 45 years, Marvine Barneswell Cook.
He is survived by his daughters, Earlina Cook, of Johns Creek, and Jackie (husband, Fredrick) Austin, of Woodstock; sons, Mack (wife, Uvonna) Cook, of Lawrenceville, and Nelvin Cook, of Atlanta; step-daughter, JoAnn (husband, Robert) Owens, of Marietta; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Mary Cook, of Atlanta; brother, Charles Cook, of Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 11 a.m. at St. James United Methodist Church. Dr. Michael T. McQueen will be officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, make donations to St. James UMC Building Campaign, 3000 Webb Bridge Rd Alpharetta, GA 30009.
