http://mugshotsatlanta.com/mug/travis-eckman). Unfortunately, my (soon to be ex) husband was the breadwinner, and despite 5 years of college education I have yet to find employment. I'm now being evicted.Earlier this year my husband attacked my daughter with a bat and broke her arm. I turned him in to the police and we're now getting a divorce (
North Fulton Community Charities, St. Brigid's and Perimeter Church already helped me the first month after it happened. I sold off all items of value to pay for the next month's bills. Now we're four months behind on rent and we're being evicted. The Marshall could come out any day and force us out. Alas, there is no room for us at the shelters. I'm on a couple waiting lists, but I'm scared. The leasing office where I live said if I can pay off the past due amount they'll let us stay and move into a cheaper apartment that I'll be able to afford with the newly ordered child support. But, I don't know how I can catch up on my own! I have no family and few friends that can help.
PLEASE help us if you can! I've already called all the local charities/organizations and a social worker has been making calls on our behalf (unfortunately, she hasn't had any more luck than I have).
We may be having a fundraiser in the near future with local comedians, but the details haven't been figured out yet. In the meantime, like I said, we could be forced out any day. After all that my children have gone through, I really don't want them to go through homelessness on top of it all.
We set up a crowdfunding page. If you're interested in helping, please donate at: http://www.gofundme.com/46aae8
