UDC - Rumor has it...

RoswellCitizen back from a great weekend away.  Can’t you just feel the season changing?  Had a great weekend watching the grandchildren play and frolic in the fallen leaves.  Nothing like that in the world. 

Ok, so let’s get down to business. 

Rumor has it that the all-day work session to hammer out the final UDC details went well.  From what I have heard, from a few different sources, is that Igleheart was defiant and difficult to work with on Saturday.  

I ask you Roswell voters, is that the type of person you want to represent YOU?  Do you want someone who is kicking-screaming and not willing to roll-up his sleeves and get the job done! 

A thought to ponder – Apartments. 

I keep hearing all this negativity regarding the UDC and apartments.  Let me ask the readers this – have you ever lived in an apartment at some point in your life?  If you answered no, then you are a small percentage of the voters and probably hold a negative view of apartments or those that live in them. 

However, most likely, like me, you answered yes.  Whether this was a crash pad while you were in college (oh…those college daze!), or your first place all to yourself after leaving mom and dad’s house.  Or, it could have been your brief stopover during the time your house was under construction and you had already sold your house.  Or, like some during the economic recession of late, it was  your only option for housing due to a home foreclosure or short sale. 

My point is this – don’t knock the UDC simply because is has language in the document for apartment housing – a very much needed type of housing stock in Roswell.
