Totally Accepted

Truth is, we live in a society where people are often biased. Most of us consciously or unconsciously show partiality everyday. We accept people based on our own preconceived notions of whether we think they are likeable and worthy. From our youth, we were socialized to be that way and today most of us may still give preferential treatment to others for a variety of reasons.

Who has never rejected someone because they had a disability, were from another nation, ethnic group, or social and economic class? Who has never been partial to the people they encountered on this journey of life? It started in elementary school and even before then when parents began to shape their children's decisions to keep company with certain children and to reject pretty much anyone or anything else. Sadly, some of us didn't have a choice in how we were conditioned to be biased towards others.

Now, can you imagine if God were prejudiced. What if He preferred some and rejected others who wanted to have a relationship with Him? Oh, what if He looked down from heaven and said “I want nothing to do with those ones?" "They are useless." Can you just imagine?  What if those ones He called useless were us, or someone we knew? Many of us would not have a reason to live. We would be utterly dejected and without hope of a future. Thankfully, despite who we are, God does not discriminate. He is not partial but accepts each and everyone of us. He loves us unconditionally!

Our God does not prefer some and disregard others. Scripture lets us know that we are accepted in the beloved through the Blood of Jesus and according to the riches of God's grace (Ephesians 1:3-7). No matter where we are from, how we look or our status in life, we are totally accepted and guaranteed a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. God will never reject us! Employers may reject us, our own children, parents, spouse, friends, creditors and landlords but God will not reject us. We are His own creation whom He will never forsake for anything.

If for any reason you feel rejected and believe that God does not truly accept you, pray in the name of Jesus and ask Him to remove that feeling of rejection. Ask God for forgiveness for thinking He would ever reject you and also pray to forgive the individuals who you know have rejected you. Next allow the Lord to heal you from feelings of rejection. Feel the shower of His love all over you! Let God give you faith to believe and know that you are totally accepted and are loved unconditionally by Him through Jesus Christ.
