Grand Marshall Raychel Germaine led the 62nd Roswell Youth Day Parade on Saturday, Oct. 13. The Frances McGahee Youth Day Parade has been an annual autumn event in Roswell since 1950.
Germaine, a 17 year old Roswell resident is training for the 2014 Winter Games in Luge. Germaine placed 14th in the women's singles competition for luge at the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in Jan 2012.
Germaine was an obvious choice for grand marshal of this year’s celebration, which was themed "Roswell’s Gold Medal."

She leaves Roswell Oct. 15 for Team USA training in Lake Placid, NY where she will train for the next 10 weeks. In December, she will compete in two Jr. World’s Cup competitions in Lillehammer, Norway and then in Konigsee, Germany.
