Body Found Near Chattahoochee River Identified

The body of Decatur resident Markiesha Taylor, 20, was found along the banks of the river in Roswell Sunday afternoon.

The woman whose body was found on federal government property along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Roswell has been identified.

The woman has been identified as 20-year-old Markiesha Taylor of Decatur. Her body was discovered around 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area’s Vickery Creek Park near Riverside Drive and Roswell Road, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution

Since the body was found on federal land, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case. The federal agency has turned the body over to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office so an autopsy can be performed.
