Cumming Man Heading to Prison for Child Porn Images

The 29-year-old man was caught with more than 120,000 pornographic images.

A man, who used a computer file-sharing program under the screen name “fallenone666” to trade child pornography, was sentenced Thursday by United States District Judge Richard W. Story to serve five years in federal prison.

Andrew John Googins, 29, of Cumming, pleaded guilty to distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography on February 3, 2012.

“This defendant collected an enormous number - more than 120,000 - of horrible images and videos portraying the sexual abuse of young children,” said United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates in a press release. “Googins amassed the collection using computer software, and shared the pornography over the Internet with other offenders. He has justly earned a significant sentence for his role in victimizing these children.”

Googins’s five-year prison sentence will be followed by supervised release for the rest of his life.

Googins was arrested in October 2010, as the result of a joint investigation by the and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

During the initial stages of the investigation, an FBI task force officer acting in an undercover capacity downloaded images and videos of child pornography from Googins, who was then only identified by the screen name “fallenone666.”

The graphic images were traced to Googins’s residence in Cumming. Agents and officers executed a search warrant at the residence and seized Googins’s laptop computer, which contained file sharing software and more than 120,000 images of child pornography.

“The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in its resolve to aggressively combat child sexual exploitation," said Sheriff Ted Paxton. "Through collaborative efforts of local, state, and federal agencies working together, we can make a difference.”

Assistant United States Attorney Brent Alan Gray prosecuted the case.

Jill, I agree. Loretta, maybe you know this creep, but if he or anyone else is looking at the pictures of child pornography or abuse, in my opinion they are as guilty as the person physically abusing these innocent kids. It will continue until there isn't a "market" for the pictures and videos. Are you aware that Atlanta has the highest sex trade trafficking in the country? I'm with Bill, it should be 50 years.

Loretta, how would you feel if you knew some man was looking at pictures like this of your child? How would you feel if you were one of the children this happened to and your pictures were being downloaded and viewed by someone like this? It's like the child is being re-victimized every time. Looking at pictures is always the first step. He needs help, no one in their right mind should enjoy looking at children in a sexual manner. 5 years is definitely not a sufficient sentence.

Lorretta he didn't get charged for looking at the pictures he got charged for possesing the pictures and then sharing them. Despiste what some politicians may like to do we have not gone that far into an Orwellian where all become throught criminals and have squads of thought police arresting us in the dead of night for whats going on in our heads (No matter how sick and disgusting it is). As the the law has never been able to keep up with technology. He didnt phyiscally harm any of the children in the images thats why according to the law he only got 5yrs. Please before anyone accuses me of sympathysing with this animal he should have his you know what chopped off then slamed in a pit to rot somewhere.

There is no way to compare these horrific crimes done to children to looking at Playboy. Though this man may not have physically performed the crime, the fact that he chose to possess & distribute speaks volumes. If he had not abused a child, it was only a matter of time. He does deserve castration and 50 years!

Loretta - the Sheriff's office and courts are hamstrung if the politicians have made viewing these pictures are a crime. if you feel so strongly urge your government to change the laws.
