Georgia 400 Accident Kills Alpharetta Woman

A motorcyclist has been charged with vehicular homicide in a crash near Holcomb Bridge Road that killed his sister.

A passenger on a motorcycle was killed early Saturday after being ejected in an accident and struck by another vehicle on Georgia 400 near Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell.

Roswell Police identified the victim as Sarah Howell, 28, of Alpharetta.

The driver of the motorcycle, David Neil Howell, the victim's brother, was arrested and charged by Roswell Police with first degree vehicular homicide, DUI, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane and violating his motorcycle instructional permit.

He was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital before his arrest, according to police.

Lisa Holland, a spokeswoman for the Roswell Police Department, said the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday when a motorcycle heading northbound on Georgia 400 near the Holcomb Bridge Road interchange hit a median wall.

Sarah Howell was thrown from the motorcycle in the collision and was hit by another vehicle and killed, Holland said.

Police are searching for black 2005 Jeep Liberty they believe to be the other vehicle involved in the accident, and that the vehicle likely is damaged on the front passenger side.

Anyone with information is asked to call Roswell Police at 770-640-4100.
