Georgia Man Arrested for Theft from Roswell's VFW
Roswell Police have arrested Michael Bradshaw for theft by deception and false swearing.
One local man finds himself in jail after allegedly receiving money from the local chapter for claiming to have been wounded in Iraq and been awarded a Purple Heart.
The Roswell Police Department arrested Michael Allen Bradshaw, Rossville, Ga., for false swearing and theft by deception last Friday, June 10, from the VFW at on Dobbs Drive.
Bradshaw was allegedly given $350 from the VFW Post 7583 in Roswell when he claimed that he was a non- commissioned officer in the U.S. Army and was wounded while deployed in Iraq. Police say he also falsified documents within the VFW, including an application for admittance to the VFW and an affidavit requesting money for a Purple Heart.

The manager of the VFW became suspicious of Bradshaw’s story and ordered his military records, only to discover that he had fabricated his military services and was discharged from the Army in May 2001 for misconduct. Bradshaw never served in Iraq and was never wounded.
