Man Hits One Officer, Runs Over the Foot of Another

Keon Ryan Patterson is facing a plethora of charges stemming from the incident.

A Tennessee man is in the custody of Roswell Police after hitting two officers with his vehicle during the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to a local home Wednesday, June 13 around 12:24 a.m. when a juvenile called police to tell them his mother's boyfriend would not leave the home. But when they arrived, the man identified as Keon Ryan Patterson, had left. As they began to leave, they noticed a driver matching the suspect's description enter the parking lot.

When they approached Patterson he turned off his vehicle, as instructed, but shortly restarted the car and drove forward striking one of the police officers and "putting him on the hood of the vehicle," according to the police report. Quickly putting the car into reverse, Patterson ran over the second officer's foot before speeding off.

He was later stopped a short distance up the road at the Waffle House, 2850 Holcomb Bridge Road and arrested without further incident.

Both officers were treated and released with minor injuries. Patterson is currently charged with aggravated assault on two police officers, possession of a firearm, obstruction, driving with a suspended license and fleeing.
