Man Taken Into Custody After Cell Phone Robbery

A 18-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly taking a cell phone from a man at an apartment complex, according to the Roswell Police Department

Steven Tramble, 18, was taken into custody after he allegedly asked to use a person's smartphone and fled on foot with the phone in his possession.

The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. June 18 at the Wood Creek Apartments on Old Holcomb Bridge Road.

The victim, according to the Roswell Police Department's Facebook page, said he was standing in the parking lot when Tramble approached him and asked if he could use his Apple iPhone 5 to call a friend.

The victim said he dialed the number for the man and handed him the cell phone to use. Tramble "immediately took off running" with the phone.

Roswell police units responded to the scene and, after a foot chase, apprehended Tramble and took him into custody. The victim's smartphone was recovered.

Officer Lisa Holland said Tramble has been charged with felony robbery by sudden snatching and obstruction. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail where he's being held without bond.
