New Police Chief Dwayne Orrick To Meet Residents At City Hall

The event will take place Monday from 6-7 p.m. at Roswell City Hall, and is open to the public.

, Roswell's  recently-hired replacement for retiring  Police Chief Edwin Williams, will introduce himself to residents during an hour-long meet-and-greet on Monday from 6-7 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers.

The event is free and open to the public.

Orrick was selected as Roswell's next police chief last month, following an extensive review of candidates. The 30-year law enforcement veteran most recently served as the Public Safety Director for the city of Cordele, Ga., and was the city's police chief for 16 years before assuming the PSD duties.

“I’m excited to join the Roswell team," Orrick said. "Roswell P.D. has a great reputation throughout the state, and is known for keeping up with the latest trends, information, and resources available to law enforcement. These efforts show in the City’s low crime rate.”

In addition to serving as Cordele’s public safety director and police chief, Orrick  has served as a member of the Georgia State Board of Public Safety, Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Criminal History Technology Committee, and Georgia
Emergency Management Agency’s Statewide Public Safety Communications Committee. He is also an instructor and advisory board member at South Georgia Police Academy and South Georgia Technical College.

Orrick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Masters in Public
Administration from the University of Georgia. Orrick is a graduate of
the FBI National Academy, and serves as a National Institute of Ethics Instructor. His annual salary as Roswell's police chief is $115,000.
