Police Blotter: Feb. 20-26

A condensed list of interesting incidents within Roswell over the past week.

-Police were dispatched to Manchester Way Wednesday, Feb. 23, after two women reported being held at gunpoint by a man who had stolen their wedding and engagement rings.

One of the victims told police that she thought the black male - wearing a green sweatshirt and blue jeans - was merely fumbling for the keys to his car or “possibly going to ask for money” when he began to approach the women and the two children with them.

The man then pointed a gun at the back of one of the victims and demanded they turn over their rings. When one of the women had trouble taking her ring off, the suspect yelled, “hurry up, I don’t want to hurt the kids,” according to the police report.

-Road rage turned violent when two men at the Shell Station on Alpharetta Highway, Sunday, Feb. 27, beat a local cab driver.

According to reports by the cab driver and station attendant, the situation began when the two men jaywalked across Alpharetta Highway directly in front of the cab, which was pulling into the Shell Station. After giving the driver the middle finger, the men went inside to purchase coffee.

When they left the store they made their way to the gas pump where the driver was filling up. He was knocked to the ground when the men hit him in the face.

The driver suffered a swollen eye and police arrested both men without incident.
