Police Blotter: Feb. 27-Mar. 5

A condensed list of interesting incidents within Roswell over the past week.

-A van missing from the Carl Black Chevrolet dealership on Alpharetta Highway was reported by its owner on Feb. 28. The 1996 cargo van, which belonged to the Veteran’s Empowerment Organization (VEO), had been at the dealership since December when it was brought in for maintenance. It wasn’t until the owner called the dealership to check on repairs that he was told it was missing. That’s when he called police. Pictures of American flags, soldiers and the VEO logo are wrapped around the van, making it highly visible, the owner told police. Anyone with information should contact the Roswell Police Department.

-A Roswell Nursing Home resident called police when she discovered mysterious calls made and received on her cell phone. The resident told police she believe someone retrieved her phone sometime on Mar.1 and then returned it Mar. 2. The call log showed one outgoing call was made and four incoming calls from Guatemala were received. The police have no suspects at this time.

-The owner of a new Mercedes called police after a brown Tahoe followed him aggressively from his bank to his destination. Once stopped, the driver of the Tahoe accused the Mercedes owner of backing into her at the bank, which he contended he did not do and verified by pointing out the lack of marks or dents on his vehicle. Still, he offered to call police if the driver of the Tahoe wanted to report the incident. She refused the offer and immediately left. The Mercedes owner told police he believed she had targeted him because he was leaving a bank and driving an expensive new car. The police took no further action on the matter.
