Power Out for More Than 7,000 Roswell Customers

Georgia Power is restoring critical public safety power service first, and then moving to residential and business customers.

A severe thunderstorm that blew through Roswell left downed trees on many streets and in many neighborhoods, adding to the dangers of the storm. Georgia Power reported more than 7,000 customers were without power in Roswell.

  • West of GA 9 at North Fulton Hospital, including Hembree Park area north toward Rucker, west to Hardscrabble, south along Crabapple and Houze tou the Hollyberry Drive/Holly ridge Drive area.
  • From East and West Crossville roads south along a line just east of Alpharetta Street (GA 9), west to Bowen and Jones roads and the Cobb County line, down to Coleman Road and including the Historic Square at Atlanta Street and Marietta Highway (GA 120).
  • Another area from the top end of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area just south of Waller Park, east past Old Alabama Road and including all of the area along Riverside Road and Azalea Drive but not reaching Willeo Road to the west. This outage also includes Chattahoochee Terrace across the Chatahoochee River.
  • Several smaller areas near these other areas.

Gaylord Ove confirms via Facebook that River Mill is still without power at 11:35 p.m. Thursday. Robin Nicholson Parker reported the Riverside Park area outage more than three hours earlier.

Trees were down on Mimosa Boulevard, according to Susan Patton Fraley. She also reported damage to the Primrose Cottage fence. Worse still was that a home across the street had a large tree on the roof, and lots of other trees were down in downtown Roswell.
