Roswell Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

A police officer is on administrative leave after shooting at the suspect, but there were no injuries.

A North Carolina man suspected of robbing a Pizza Hut late Wednesday night has been arrested, Roswell Police said this morning.

Officer Lisa Holland said Cordvontay Sexton, 22, from North Carolina, was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault after leading police on a footrace near the restaurant.

She said a male suspect walked into the Pizza Hut on 661 Holcomb Bridge around 11 p.m. Wednesday, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

After taking money from the store and an employee the suspect fled on foot, Holland said.

Responding officers found the suspect nearby at the intersection of Mansell Road and Colonial Park Drive, according to police, who said the suspect threatened them with a gun.

Holland said an officer fired at the suspect, who was not injured and was taken into custody in the 500 block of Colonial Park Drive.

She said Sexton was transferred to the Fulton County Jail and the officer is on administrative leave, which is routine following an officer-involved shooting.

That probe is being conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
