UPDATE: Roswell Man Arrested After Pellet Pistol Fired at Cars, Businesses

Search of suspect's car turns up pellet pistol believed used in the Roswell and Alpharetta shootings.

UPDATED 11:10 a.m., Nov. 9: A second Roswell man has been arrested after dozens of shots were fired with a pellet pistol at vehicles and businesses on Mansell Road in Alpharetta and Roswell, and in other places in Roswell.

Javon Dacosta Toppin, 22, of Roswell, was arrested at 10 p.m. Nov. 8. He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and two counts criminal damage to property in the first degree. Both charges are felonies.;

Rashaun Stevens, who was arrested earlier on Tuesday, now faces those same charges in the investigation by Alpharetta and Roswell police, said George Gordon, public information officer for the .

The initial incident occurred on Nov. 7 and involved a male suspect who fired dozens of pellets from a high powered pellet pistol at vehicles and businesses near Mansell Road and Hwy. 9, according to Gordon. Nine unoccupied vehicles were struck and damaged in Alpharetta. Additionally, three shots were fired and struck glass at the Mexi Cali Grill while people were inside dining. An additional six incidents were reported in the City of Roswell.

One day later, on Nov. 8, Alpharetta and Roswell police obtained and executed a search warrant as well as an arrest warrant at a Roswell address. Authorities found and arrested a 20-year-old Roswell man. A pellet pistol suspected of being used in the shootings was found in a gold Acura TL vehicle.

Raushan Stevens was taken into custody and transported to the Alpharetta jail at that time.
