Roswell Man Charged with DUI, Child Endangerment

The following arrest information was supplied by Roswell Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Roswell resident Michael Guthrie was arrested during the early morning hours last Sunday, Feb. 12, by Roswell Police for DUI and child endangerment after he drove past several officers on only his rims with his 8-month-old in the truck.

According to the police report, the officers were conducting a routine traffic stop on East Crossville Road, near Highway 9, when Guthrie drove by in his Dodge Ram at 30-40 miles per hour without tires on the driver's side of the truck.

After searching for the truck, police found it at Brunswick Bowling Lanes on Old Roswell Road. Guthrie's baby was in a carseat in the center of the bench seat. He told police he had hit something, but continued driving for approximately "two minutes" on flat tires. His eyes were glassy, he smelled strongly of alcohol and failed numerous field sobriety tests, according to the report.

Guthrie also had a cut on his right hand, which police connected to a broken bottle of Wild Turkey Bourbon with blood on it.

Police turned the baby over to its mother and Guthrie was taken to the Roswell Detention Center.
