Roswell Police Hold 'National Night Out' Tonight

Police departments across the country, including Roswell, will host an open house tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.

Get to know your neighbors and those sworn to "serve and protect" Roswell residents during tonight's "National Night Out," an event held throughout the country to increase crime prevention awareness.

The will partner with sponsors - the - to offer residents food, drinks, games and prizes. There will also be police vehicles and fire equipment on-hand for an up-close-and-personal look.

"This enjoyable national event is designed to strengthen our communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners," states the release sent out by the Roswell Police Department.

According to Roswell, the goal of the event is for neighbors to become better acquainted, to engage residents in crime prevention programs and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are "organized and fighting back."
