Roswell Police Investigate Attempted Kidnapping Near Daycare

The child said a person in an older model Honda pulled up beside her and demanded she get into the vehicle.

The Roswell Police Department is investigating an attempted kidnapping Friday morning near a daycare.

Police said at around 7:40 a.m., a 12-year-old girl was walking to her bus stop on Old Holcomb Bridge Road when she noticed a black Honda parked at a Premier Learning Center, located at 1200 Gran Crique Parkway.

As she walked by the center, the driver of the car "pulled out and stopped next to the girl," the Roswell Police Department said in a press release.

"The driver demanded the child to get into his car," the agency said. "The victim said that she started to walk backwards away from the car and the Honda pulled away."

A resident who witnessed the incident escorted the child to her bus stop and told her bus driver what happened.

An investigation started when the child arrived at the school, Roswell police said. The driver is believed to be a clean, shaven, dark-skinned black man in his 30s with short hair. No clothing or build description was deciphered as the car window was partially rolled down.

The vehicle is described as an older model, four-door Honda with a red sticker near the gas cap.

The agency added they hope the witness who escorted the child to the bus stop will contact the department to provide them with information.
