ORIGINAL STORY

The Roswell Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle accident that took the life of a man early Tuesday morning.

According to police spokesperson Officer Zac Frommer, the agency believes a man driving a small Toyota pick-up truck was headed westbound on Hembree Road when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

The man, who police have not identified pending notification of the victim's family, died at the scene, Frommer said.

Frommer said investigators don't believe weather was to blame for the accident, and it's not known at this time if drugs or alcohol were a factor.

The accident happened just before 6 a.m., and Hembree Road was shut down between Crabapple Road and Saddlebrook Court while investigators worked the scene. The road has since reopened.
