Roswell Police Now Accepting Youth Explorer Officers
Students between the ages of 14-20, who've completed eighth grade, are welcome to apply.
The Roswell Police Department is ready to accept incoming officers - between the ages of 14 through 20.
The Roswell Police's Explorer program will kick off with an informational meeting Wednesday, Feb. 20. The co-ed program gives teens interested in the criminal justice system a way to become more involved by training "under the guidance of Roswell Police officers while familiarizing them with every aspect of law enforcement," according to the city website.
Skills learned are then used to compete against other Explorer posts, as well as assist the police department with major events throughout Roswell. Some Explorers even go on to find careers in criminal justice.
