The Roswell Police Department later this month will hold its own Drug Take-Back Day to encourage residents to drop off their unused prescription medications.

The event will set up shop at the Roswell Recycling Center at 11570 Maxwell Road in Alpharetta Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Roswell is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Keep Roswell Beautiful for the event, which is free for residents to utilize.

The purpose is to provide a proper way for citizens to dispose of medications they no longer need.

Medications collected are burned to prevent anyone else from obtaining them or getting information from the prescription labels.

For more information, please officer Lisa Holland at the Roswell Police Department at (770) 640-4422 or visit the DEA’s website.
