Steel From WTC Visits Roswell

A piece of the World Trade Center's Tower 2 was in Roswell yesterday before it headed to a fundraiser in Marietta last night and then, ultimately, onto its permanent destination at the San Diego Fire Museum.

The piece of steel on a makeshift display at was once a part of the World Trade Center in New York before the infamous attacks of September 11, 2001.

Now, the steel is being donated to the San Diego Fire Museum, but it's taking the long-way-around to get there as it journeys cross-country, making several stops along the way. Thanks to the Terry Farrell Foundation, named for a New York firefighter who died in the attacks, people throughout the country will get to see the steel.

The foundation has nine chapters throughout the country, including one in Georgia, and helps fund educational, medical and equipment needs for local firefighters and their families.
