Brief Cold Snap Postpones Nesbit Ferry Resurfacing

The city of Roswell will postpone the project until March 31.

The recent, yet brief dip in overnight temperatures has forced the city of Roswell to postpone its Nesbit Ferry Road resurfacing project

The city will now start the project on March 31, as asphalt can't be placed during cold temperatures because it will not set into the ground properly.

The road will be resurfaced between Holcomb Bridge Road to the city limits just north of Scott Road. The project is set to wrap up on April 11.

Since the project involves milling, deep patching, leveling, resurfacing and restriping, residents should use caution as loose debris will occur. Also, traffic signal detection loops will be inoperable during the project, which may cause additional delays.

The project, awarded to Northwest Georgia Paving, Inc., will encompass 2.1 miles and cost $477,447.50.

The city expects the project to be complete by March 27. For more information, call the department at (770) 594-6420 or visit www.roswellgov.com/conezone
