Census Shows Population Growth for Roswell

The city population has grown since the 2000 census.

A lot has changed since the year 2000, but some things have stayed the same, including Roswell's ranking as the eighth most populous city in the state, according to U.S. Census Bureau figures just released.

While the city added 9,012 people to its population between 2000 and 2010, the relatively slight increase kept the city at exactly the same ranking as it was 10 years ago.

According to the 2010 census results, the city's official population is now 88,346, compared to the 79,334 it was in 2000. That tops neighboring Alpharetta's population of 57,571 and Marietta's population of 56,579 by more than 30,000.
