City's Historic & Cultural Affairs Division Wins Award for 'Trilogy Trolley Crawl'

The popular Roswell event is held in August each year.

The Historic & Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Roswell has won a Southeast Festivals and Events Association ‘Kaleidoscope Award’ for Best Marketing Campaign.

The award was specifically given to the city for its increasingly .

The unique event name itself was created to explain the evening, according to information provided by the city.

"Trilogy is for the three historic homes (Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall and Smith Planation) that the city of Roswell owns and operates, Trolley is for the trolleys that transport guests between each home and Crawl suggests a laid-back evening where attendees can enjoy a themed party atmosphere on the grounds of these magnificent properties," said Morgan Timmis, Historic & Cultural Affairs manager.

An event this special deserves an equally impressive marketing campaign and that’s just what it got, say city leaders. Event organizers wowed the panel of judges with their multi-faceted campaign that included both traditional and grassroots methods of promoting the Trilogy Trolley Crawl. Their marketing efforts included a strategic Facebook campaign, enhanced online calendar listings, chalk art throughout the city, complimentary fans at outdoor events, trivia contests and even a live donkey mascot, Wyatt, that paraded through Canton Street during Alive After Five. Organizers also secured an actual trip giveaway to Miami (which was the destination Smith Plantation was transformed into for the evening) that included a three night hotel stay, double decker tour tickets and GO MIAMI passes.

"We are proud to sponsor this two-time award-winning event and congratulate the entire team for their outstanding effort," said long-time sponsor, Jeff Scroggin. "It’s always fun to see how they’ve created a whole new atmosphere at the historic homes based on the theme each year."

Organizers are already planning for the next Trilogy Trolley Crawl and have selected the ‘destinations’, which will include Monte Carlo (Barrington Hall), Saint Andrews (Bulloch Hall) and Honolulu (Smith Plantation).
