Council OKs, Pedicabs, Food Trucks

Roswell City Council met last night, Feb. 13, for its regular meeting.

The Roswell City Council approved first steps toward regulating local food vendors, as well as allowing pedicabs within parts of the city's historic district, Monday night.

Food Vendors

According to an ordinance text amendment approved by council, food trucks and vendors would be able to operate within Roswell once they're fully licensed by . Vendors would have to stick to certain restrictions, such as only selling food and non-alcoholic beverages between 6:30 a.m. and sunset on private property, where they've received permission to set up. Allowances would be made for vendors to operate later than sunset during special events, such as movie filming, said Roswell Planning and Zoning Director Brad Townsend.

Vendors would also be required to stay at least 200 feet away from a restaurant, unless they've received specific permission to the contrary. And they are required to maintain $1 millon in liability insurance.
