East Roswell Library Breaks Ground

Facility to open in third quarter of 2014.

The first of three new libraries slated for North Fulton broke ground Thursday in East Roswell.

Sitting on old farmland donated by the city of Roswell, the site at Holcomb Bridge and Fouts roads will transform into a 15,000-square-foot library next year.

The Leed Silver "green" building is one of eight new libraries that will open in Fulton, thanks to a 2008 library bond referendum. Libraries are also slated to open in Alpharetta and Milton, with groundbreakings before the end of the year.

"I want to thank the members of this community that will be using this facility," said Fulton Commissioner Liz Hausmann, addressing the large crowd that turned out despite overcast skies. Hausmann and other county and library officials thanked the community for giving overwhelming input and support of the project.
