Fulton County Sells Local Property

Three of the six parcels being sold are in North Fulton.

Over the next several weeks, the public has the opportunity to submit sealed bids for six properties currently being sold by Fulton County Government.

The Board of Commissioners has officially declared the six properties as surplus to the needs of the county and its agencies. This bid period presents a unique opportunity for interested buyers. Typically, land owned by the county is available for purchase only by other public entities.

To submit a bid, interested buyers can visit the county website. The website offers a list of the properties, flyers, an Owner’s Disclosure Statement and more. From there, interested parties can download a bid package and submit a bid following the published guidelines.

The Bid Package is the official source of all bidding instructions and it provides the documents required to complete and submit a sealed bid. No minimum bid has been established for the properties, but submitted bids will be evaluated and awards will be made only if the offer is at least equal to the fair market value of the property.

Properties are being sold “as is, where is.” Payment by cash, cashier’s check or bank-issued check is due at closing once the sales are approved.

The Buyer must be represented by a licensed Real Estate Broker or Agent to bid on these properties.  A commission of 5 percent will be paid to the real estate brokerage at closing at no cost to the buyer.

The six properties that are currently available for bid are located throughout Fulton County and include both undeveloped parcels and sites that previously housed Fulton County facilities.
