Once completed, the library is expected to open during the 3rd quarter of 2014, according to a county press release.

Fulton voters in 2008 approved the library bond referendum, which will enhance and build new libraries throughout the county. Phase 1 of the program is underway.

The bond referendum includes 8 new branches in Alpharetta, East Roswell, Milton, Northwest Atlanta, Palmetto, Southeast Atlanta, Stewart-Lakewood and Wolf Creek; and two expansion projects for the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History and the South Fulton Library.

The library system is expected to receive LEED Silver status on all phase 1 projects and each library is expected to reflect the surrounding community's attributes.

Anyone planning to attend the event should park in the East Roswell Park front parking lot and a shuttle will take attendees to the location of the ceremony.
