Georgia Senate Passes Bill Requiring Mandatory Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse

Sen. John Albers, R-Roswell, who represents Roswell, parts of Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Milton and Johns Creek, offers his legislative address on the current legislative session for weedks nine and 10.

An excerpt:

"The Georgia Senate passed several key pieces of legislation in the final days of the session to increase economic development for Georgia and fulfill the Senate Majority Caucus priorities.

"[Among the bill passed by] the Senate last week included my bill, Senate Bill 292, which ensures accountability and responsibility for welfare recipients. This will require a mandatory drug test and assure we're giving a hand up and not a handout."
