Liz Hausmann Wins 'Friends of Business' Award

Fulton County Commissioner and Johns Creek resident Liz Hausmann took home the "Friends of Business" award from the Regional Business Coalition when she left the Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast Tuesday morning.

"This person has led the way for economic development not just in North Fulton but across our county," said Bernie Tokarz, Public Policy director for the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, as he introduced her.

He said Hausmann pushed for a transportation solution and recently led the battle for water access and capacity in North Fulton and the creation of a Fulton County Department of Economic Development.

"I believe in what we've done and I believe in where we are going," Hausmann said upon receiving the award.

She said while the last few years have been rough on the area, she feels North Fulton is poised for economic improvement.

The twelve chambers of commerce and other business organizations that make up the Regional Business Coalition determine on an annual basis the most pro-growth elected officials who have contributed to and influenced the impact of economic development in the region and honor their accomplishments with this award.

Hausmann’s district includes the North Fulton cities of Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton and Roswell.  She is serving her first term on the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. She has previously served on the Johns Creek City Council and the Fulton County Board of Education.
