Roswell began a longterm sidewalk project near MARTA bus routes to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility this week. During the construction, motorists may experience delays in the areas with flagman controlling temporary lane closures, according to city officials. However, access through the areas will be maintained, they say.
The first project at Dogwood Road, south of Holcomb Bridge Road, will reconstruct and close gaps along the east side of the road. Construction is expected to be complete in August, weather permitting.
Other sidewalk construction projects include:
- North side of Hembree Road, west of State Route 9
- North side of Mansell Place, east of State Route 9
- North side of House Way, east of Houze Road
- South side of Mansell Road, from just west of Roswell Commons Drive extending 1,500 feet to the east.
Construction is expected to be complete in November, weather permitting.
The total cost of the project is $153,064.25 and is funded through the , which were approved in June.
