New Roswell Library Name Search Continues

The deadline is Monday to submit nominations, since the Holcombe Glen suggestion was rejected.

The new public library branch under construction in East Roswell still doesn't have a name.

The Fulton Library Board of Trustees last week rejected a naming committee's suggestion to call the new branch Holcombe Glen, according to the Roswell Neighbor.

The naming committee, which includes Roswell City Councilwoman Nancy Diamond, is accepting nominations through Monday.

You might not want to suggest "East Roswell," since Mayor Jere Wood was quoted in the story as saying that it's a divisive moniker.

Last month, Fulton library officials broke ground on the new library site at Holcomb Bridge and Fouts roads, and it's expected to be completed next year.

If you'd like to suggest a name, contact any member of the naming committee:

  • Eileen Seidman R4455ATL@aol.com
  • Nancy Diamond: ndiamond@roswellgov.com
  • Lynn McIntyre: lynn.mcintyre.770@gmail.com
The deadline is Monday, Sept. 9, and like the first time around, the ultimate say will be with the library board.
