New Water Treatment Plant Approved For Roswell

The new water treatment plant will cost $14.7 million.

The city of Roswell will soon begin construction on a new water treatment plant.

The Roswell City Council on Monday approved a contract with Layne Heavy Civil, Inc. to build the plant for $14.7 million. 

The city received four additional bids, ranging from from $17 million and $19.4 million. 

The project includes a new 3 million gallon per day plant, new raw water intake, 10 million gallon raw water storage tank and operations building and associated site changes at the city's Water Resources Division.
