North Fulton Radio Authority to Meet in Roswell

Tuesday's meeting takes place at 10 a.m. at City Hall.

The newly formed North Fulton Regional Radio System Authority will meet Tuesday morning at Roswell City Hall.

The authority includes representatives from the cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton and Sandy Springs.

After two organizational meetings earlier this summer, the authority will hold regular meetings first Tuesday of each month at Roswell City Hall. On this Tuesday's agenda (attached PDF) includes the presentation of committee and finance reports.

The authority, which was created on July 1 after the passage of state legislation earlier this year, was designated to establish a regional emergency public safety radio system.

At a meeting last month, the authority elected officers and established bylaws and gave the green light to two radio tower leases.

A proposed radio tower for the new system on Fouts Road near East Roswell Park has drawn nearby residential opposition. Last month, the Roswell City Council deferred action on the proposal.

But the matter is slated for reconsideration at next week's city council meeting.

The council meeting, originally scheduled for next Monday, Sept. 9, has been pushed back to Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m.

That meeting will be preceeded by a work session on the Unified Development Code at 5:30 p.m.
