North Fulton Residents to Learn How to Install a Rain Barrel

Although Alpharetta is a partner with Fulton County in the workshop, residents from other cities are welcome to register.

All the rain we've been having the past week or so has me thinking the idea of a rain barrel is a pretty good one. And in Alpharetta, a few lucky people who are quick to register can pay just $35 for a rain barrel – and get taught how to install and use it.

Alpharetta announced in a news release today that it is joining with Fulton County Public Works Water Services to invite North Fulton residents – not just Alpharettans – to a “make and take” rain barrel workshop.

Make & Take Rain Barrel Workshop

  • Tuesday, Aug. 28, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Alpharetta Engineering/Public Works Department
    1790 Hembree Road, Alpharetta, 30009.
  • $35, includes rain barrel and all supplies
  • Pre-register by calling 678-297-6200. Space is limited.

Harvesting rain water is an excellent water source for lawns and plants.  The release said participants will receive a 55-gallon rain barrel and ideas on how to install one.

The local sponsor is teVenti.
